Given the demands of today, it can be incredibly difficult to stop and notice our thoughts about what’s actually impacting our lives in this current moment. Often it can be impossible to discern how we are really feeling and bring awareness to how our body is responding with the frequent noise and chaos that exists in our world. Coming to session with Claudia as your therapist can feel like that opportunity you need to just pause and breathe for a second… and many times, we can find out a thing or two about ourselves along the way.
Claudia is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Perinatal Mental Health specialist and has been practicing in the mental health field in a variety of contexts for over a decade. Claudia is formally trained in Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Brainspotting, and Motivational Interviewing. She utilizes multiple treatment applications from these methodologies in practice and emphasizes a strengths-based and client-led viewpoint. Claudia’s approach is fairly simple – she wants to help individuals understand the patterns of how their thoughts, feelings and behaviors (or body responses) interact and inform the ways in which they move through the world. She is passionate about empowering her clients to build a framework for organizing and making meaning out of what has happened in the past, so that they can better understand how it may or may not be affecting the present, and develop new paths towards improved functioning for the future.
